Thanks for visiting Belatopia! Our names are Misti & Troy and in 2020 we set out to create experiences that our family loved and share them with others. We live in Colorado and the journey started there. Breckenridge was one of our favorite places to ski and we found the cute town of Fairplay was a great place to stay that was more affordable and gave a lot of room for family to spread out after a day of playing in the mountains. We painted each of the murals in the home ourselves and are adding a barrel panoramic sauna in August 2025.

Next, we went to Florida and scoured the coastline for a beach town that was quiet, had great food, and of course breathtaking beaches. This was where we found Marco Island and our kids fell in love with Mackle Park, the 10K Alley arcade at the JW Marriott, playing on the endless beaches, riding bikes, and getting picked up in the free golf cart "taxi". We completely renovated the property and our kids were part of it all. From painting to building furniture, they saw the transformation and the vision we had for our guests. We wanted you to be able to enjoy the lanai and pool as much as we do so we installed an outdoor kitchen (complete with a pizza oven!) in December 2024.

I'm sure you've noticed, traveling and wild adventures are what we love most! This then took us to Alaska of all places! We wanted to show the kids the Northern Lights and Fairbanks, Alaska was just the place to do it. Visible from September through April, the lights dance across the sky. We found a cabin that has low light pollution making it easy for people of all ages to see the wonder of the Aurora Borealis. Our kids helped tile the upstairs bathroom, paint the murals, and as a family we binge-watched the Wednesday series at night hoping the "lights would come out" as the locals say.

The next part of our journey brought us to finding one of the best Oktoberfests in the country and we landed in Helen, GA. Helen is an adorable village with German architecture, authentic German food, and a river that you can float right through town! We set up The Edelweiss with a "secret room" where the kids can be transported behind a mirror to their very own arcade. At the Fernweh house, an Oktoberfest "tent" awaits you with ceiling banners and all.
